The Parliamentary Integrity Committee has acknowledged the difficulty of recovering the money of the former regime deposited in Arab and foreign banks.
Committee member Sabah al-Ukaili said in a press statement: "The former regime was hiring officials in the Iraqi state to open financial accounts in their names in a number of Arab and international banks, and that these funds are reserved in these banks."
He explained that these banks, distributed among forty countries, have booked these funds on the grounds that they do not have information about customers, "pointing out:" The information available that some of them have died and the other section in prisons and a third section does not have any information about the Iraqi state "He said.
"The statements of these people are not known to the Iraqi state, making it difficult to recover these large and large amounts."
