    Information / Baghdad ..
Basra Governorate Council member Nasad al-Mansouri confirmed on Monday that the governor of Basra, As'ad al-Eidani, remains in his post officially and performs his duties normally, pointing out that the decision to go to parliament requires his resignation from office.
Al-Mansouri said in a statement to Al-Maaloumah that "the governor of Basra, As'ad al-Eidani, remains in office officially, despite his victory in the membership of the House of Representatives."
He added that "the governor in case he decided to activate his membership in the House of Representatives must submit his resignation from the post of governor, to forget the provincial council to choose an alternative figure."
He explained that "activating the membership of the Eidani or not in the House of Representatives, ordered by the parliament and the governor, and is not linked to the Council of the province, and the House of Representatives can resolve the issue, in order to compensate vacant seats within the Council through the Electoral Commission." Ending / 25 n
