US House of Representatives: We want to imprison Trump instead of isolating him

Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi said during a meeting with Democratic Party leaders and House of Representatives Speaker Gerold Nadler that she would prefer a prison sentence to US President Donald Trump instead of his removal.
"I do not want to isolate him. I want to see him in prison," the Politeko newspaper quoted officials attending the meeting as saying.
According to the newspaper, during the meeting, the head of the legal committee tried to convince Pelosi to grant permission to the legal committee to start the isolation proceedings.
At the same time, the Speaker of the House supports the desire of her Democratic colleagues to want to begin the isolation process, but believes that it should be done at the right time and in particular. Democrats need strong public and party support.
