Turkey announced the extension of the Iraqi embargo on its products to more than 85 products, indicating that the Iraqi decision affected eight major production companies.
The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce said in a statement, "The scope of the Iraqi embargo on Turkish products widened," noting that "the ban included more than 85 products from 78 products before."

"The Iraqi decision has affected eight major production companies in Mardin (southeastern Turkey) whose output depends mainly on egg and flour production," it said.

Officials in the poultry sector in Turkey expected an egg crisis in the Turkish market within six months, if the Iraqi boycott continues, due to the expected bankruptcy of the production companies, pointing out that once the Iraqi decision, the production companies destroyed about one million eggs stored for 20 days, due to the lack of Local market absorption capacity.
