[rtl]IRBIL, Kurdistan 24 - Sadr's leader Muqtada al-Sadr has called on Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to hold early elections in Iraq under UN supervision and free of current political parties.
"Brother Adel Abdul-Mahdi must come under the dome of parliament to announce early elections, under UN supervision and with long legal periods," Sadr wrote in his Twitter account.
"During this period, all necessary measures will be taken to change the electoral commission and its law and present it to the people. We also call for early elections without the participation of the current parties, except by the consent of the people."
Sadr's bloc, which came first in last year's election and helped bring Abdul-Mahdi's fragile coalition to power, said on Saturday it would turn to the opposition until the demands of anti-government protesters were met.
