[ltr]Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) member Pierre Taher said on Tuesday that all Kurdish blocs will stand with any alternative candidate for the current prime minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, provided he abides by the constitution.[/ltr]
[ltr]Taher said, during a televised meeting followed by "leaks News" that "the Kurdistan Alliance will stand with any alternative candidate for Abdul-Mahdi to take over the premiership, provided that he is committed to the Constitution and to ensure not to infringe on the rights of the Kurdish people."[/ltr]
[ltr]He said a member of the Kurdish party, "the current constitution does not have any forms," noting that "the forms lie in the political mentality that dealt with the Constitution in a way that led to the outbreak of angry protests in Iraq." [/ltr]
[ltr]He continued that "the political blocs that do not hold the current Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, the responsibility of the accumulation of 16 years of the mistakes of the governments that preceded him," calling for "to give Abdul-Mahdi more time to embark on his reforms and install the pillars of the ministerial amendments he intends to make."[/ltr]
