The Parliamentary Legal Committee confirmed, on Sunday, that the contentious points of the election law have not been agreed upon by political blocs so far, while it indicated that all proposals on paragraph 15 of the law will be submitted to a vote in the House of Representatives through Monday's session.
Committee member Hussein Al-Oqabi said in a statement to “Information”, “What the media reported regarding the existence of a political agreement to adopt 50% of the highest votes and 50% of the political alliance is inaccurate and disgraceful to health,” noting that “the political blocs did not agree even Now on any proposal to resolve the contentious points with the new election law. "
He added that "Paragraph 15 of the Elections Law presented her with eight proposals, while he presented two proposals for Paragraph 16 to resolve the political dispute and all of them will be presented for voting through Monday's session," noting that "the vote will be the final decision in choosing one of the proposals proposed to resolve the dispute."
And that "going towards the multiple constituencies is difficult to implement, as it is incompatible with early elections because of technical problems in calculating the size of the population and the judiciary, as well as the lack of a mechanism in calculating the female quota."
And the Parliamentary Legal Committee announced today, Sunday, that the draft election law will be referred to the Presidency of the House of Representatives for the purpose of voting on it at tomorrow’s session, indicating that the committee has reduced a number of proposals regarding the 15th and 16th paragraphs. It ended 25 T.
