The Los Angeles Times newspaper revealed today, Saturday, intelligence information about the actions of the Iranian "Quds Force" commander Qasim Soleimani and his agenda and security precautions before he was killed by a US raid Friday in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport, while the American Vice President talked about Soleimani's relationship with the September 11 attacks.
The newspaper said that US intelligence was aware that Soleimani would travel by air from Damascus to Baghdad within days, as part of a tour that would also take him to Lebanon.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the Pentagon, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and others have made intense efforts to locate the Iranian general and take measures to kill him.
The newspaper revealed that American officials noted that Soleimani was not interested in hiding the course of his movements.
And on Thursday, reports spoke of Soleimani’s visits to Iraq known to all, which is surprising for an important military figure overseeing hot files.
According to American intelligence, Soleimani was planning imminent attacks targeting American diplomatic and military personalities.
