On Wednesday, the Presidency of the Republic denied issuing a presidential amnesty for sports figures.
In a statement, the presidency received a copy of the information, the presidency said: “We categorically deny what has been circulated in a number of media outlets regarding President Barham Salih issuing a presidential pardon for sports figures.”
She added, "While the media office confirms that these reports are not true, as they are not related to the truth, we call on the media to adhere to the professionalism and be objective and accurate in publishing the news, and the need to extract information from its official sources."
