Shafaq News/ Today, Saturday, the "Sovereignty" coalition led by Khamis Al-Khanjar called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani to issue a general amnesty law according to what was stated in the government program, while he expressed his "doubts" about the seriousness of commitment to what was agreed upon within this program.
The coalition representative, Abdul Karim Abtan, said during a press conference held in the parliament building with the participation of a number of coalition deputies, and was attended by the Shafaq News agency reporter, that the government was formed on the basis of a political agreement that includes a number of paragraphs related to the people of progress and the Sovereignty Alliance, foremost of which is the issuance of a general amnesty law according to time periods. specific".
Abtan added, "We are at the beginning of a new legislative chapter, and a period has passed since the formation of the government, and we did not see seriousness in implementing the agreed-upon government program, which makes us question the seriousness of implementing what was agreed upon, and this matter is not in the interest of the country and the political partnership."
And the representative of the Sovereignty Coalition continued, "From the standpoint of national responsibility, I renew the Sudanese demand to fulfill his obligations that he specified in his government program, and we are all confident in that," noting that "a few days ago, the Rusafa Criminal Court issued a 10-year prison sentence against a secret, false informant, and this confirms Al-Sudani's political personality and noble morals as well." We know him through our personal experience with him.
Abtan pointed out that "what we have been talking about over the past years is the presence of thousands of innocent people in prisons as a result of the slander of a notorious secret informant," stressing that prisons are full of young people who were arrested on suspicions and for unknown reasons, and some of them have been in prison for a long time, and for this reason it became imperative to expedite legislation. amnesty law.
The government program, according to deputies from the Sunni component, includes the issuance of a general amnesty law, security checks in their governorates, and the abolition or suspension of bodies that were a source of concern and crisis for them.
