Parliamentary human rights call for a study of prison conditions after the Coruna epidemic

The Parliamentary [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/429/%D8%AD%D9%82%D9%88%D9%82 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A5%D9%86%D8%B3%D8%A7%D9%86]Human Rights[/url] Committee called on the Iraqi government, the House of Representatives and the Legal Committee to study the conditions of Iraqi prisons by launching a special amnesty for the sick and elderly convicted and arrested in connection with minor cases due to the exceptional situation after the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.
In a statement, the committee drew attention to the exclusion of those convicted of terrorism and drug cases and sabotaging the state’s economy from exemption and what the government deems appropriate after its study, calling on the appeals presidents to implement the Supreme Judicial Council’s decision to refer some of those arrested in their cases to ensure their release temporarily until the completion of this serious epidemic that It spreads rapidly in human populations.
