Baghdad: Al Furat News} Prime Minister-designate Adnan Al-Zarfi sought to reassure the permanent members of the Security Council that he adopted a balanced foreign policy during a meeting he gathered with the ambassadors of these countries known as the “Big Five”.
A politician who described close to Al-Zarfi said in a press statement that the Prime Minister-designate "spoke clearly to the ambassadors of the United States, Britain, China, France and Russia about the priorities of his foreign policy, which mainly aims to guarantee the independence of Iraq and stand at the same distance from all countries, in a way that guarantees common interests between these countries." And Iraq. "
He explained that Al-Zorfi "urged the representatives of these countries to work for the implementation of mutual obligations with Iraq, including the importance of removing Iraq from the American-Iranian conflict and resolving this conflict by political means and in accordance with international laws, in addition to the importance of Britain's implementation of its obligations towards Iraq in terms of starting to implement the procedures for the loan The British grant granted to Iraq, which amounts to 10 billion dollars, in addition to other reciprocal obligations with France in terms of what it had been committed to in implementing the (Baghdad Metro), and China in terms of the Sino-Iraqi agreement on which special understandings were signed last year.
He pointed out that "the realistic policy that Al-Zarfi will pursue in the event that his government gains confidence and according to his frank meeting with representatives of the permanent Security Council states, that Iraq should be away from the specter of possible sanctions, especially with the escalation of calls, to impose it against the background of the situation towards mass demonstrations."
