, The Iraqi government sent two urgent inquiries to the US State Department regarding the entry of the Patriot system into Iraq.
A senior employee revealed, "The government directed two urgent inquiries to the US State Department regarding the entry and activation of the Patriot system in Iraq, considering that the step must be framed by a new and formal agreement between the two countries, and that Washington relied on the security partnership agreement signed between the two countries since 2008" , In the introduction of the "Patriot" system and other modern equipment that includes air monitoring and availability, it must be accompanied by a readjustment or addition of a paragraph to the text of the agreement.
The employee pointed out, "The American administration did not answer the government in this regard, which is a method that Washington has adopted in the recent period, especially after Abdul-Mahdi's resignation and the government's shift to caretaker business."
And he spoke, "There is a belief that amounts to a conviction among political circles and even at the level of Iraqi army leaders and officials in the Ministry of Defense, that the system has a strategic American goal that transcends Iraq, and they link this that the system will be able to thwart any Iranian ballistic attack targeting the occupied Palestinian territories, as The "Patriot" monument in Anbar and Erbil will prevent any such attack.
