Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani confirmed, on Tuesday, that the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, adopted the method of prevarication in his candidacy for the post of prime minister, pointing out that Saleh should be asked about the reasons for his failure to adhere to the constitution.
Al-Eidani said in a televised statement to his follower, "Al-Maalouma": "I met with other leaders who were not rejecting my candidacy for the prime minister, and Mr. Sadr was not opposed to my person but to the way I was nominated."
He added: "The President of the Republic Barham Salih has eluded me on the issue of my candidacy for the Prime Minister, while Mr. Ammar al-Hakim told Barham Salih to adhere to the constitution only."
And he stressed the need to direct the question to the President of the Republic about his lack of commitment to the constitution, ”noting that" construction leaders were surprised by Saleh's behavior, especially since the constitution did not authorize him to do so. "
Al-Eidani stated: “The Shiites are greater than the President of the Republic and adhere to their references and the conflict that Saleh invoked will not happen. 25 n ended
