BAGHDAD - Mawazine News, a
member of the Constitutional Amendments Committee, Yonadam Kanna, identified three reasons behind the delay in the Constitutional Amendments Committee's completion of its tasks assigned to it.
Kanna said, according to the official agency, that "the Constitutional Amendments Committee was late in fulfilling its mission to draft amendments to a number of paragraphs of the constitution for three reasons, the first of which is that the parliament presidency assigned the deputies of Kirkuk governorate at the request of the Constitutional Amendments Committee to rewrite Article 140 concerning the disputed areas However, the governorate’s deputies have not sent us anything, and we are still waiting for a new formulation of Article 140 that is acceptable to all parties.
