    Information / Diyala ..
The local federation of agricultural associations in Diyala revealed, on Thursday, that there are one million dunams of fertile lands that are not exploited.
"Diyala is an agricultural province and includes fertile lands with very large areas," the head of the Diyala Local Union, Raad Al-Tamimi, told Al-Maalouma.
He added, "Several factors have driven the decline of agriculture in Diyala in recent years, the most prominent of which is water, in addition to the security and import disturbances," stressing that "water will push the agricultural plan for the summer season to decrease by 30%, and this is another negative indicator for the agricultural file in general."
He pointed out that "opening the windows for agricultural investment according to modern frameworks in terms of adopting non-traditional alternatives in securing water can revive one million dunams of unused land, which is characterized by its fertility."
The agricultural sector in Diyala has suffered repeated setbacks in recent decades due to droughts, wars and agricultural pests. Finished 25 F.
