The Regions and Governorates Committee that is not organized in a region in the
House of Representatives announced, Tuesday, that four trillion allocations for regional development are in the budget.
Committee member Mahmoud Al-Kaabi said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency and followed by Al-Iktissad News, that "there has been an increase in the allocations for the development of regions from two trillion to four trillion, and the amounts of petrodollars have also increased from 500 billion to a trillion, as well as allocations of border crossings and international organizations."
Al-Kaabi added, "Some governorates have taken particularities in terms of allocations, including Dhi Qar because of their situation, where a fund has been allocated to them by about 300 billion, in addition to allocations for the development of regions and others," noting that "the fund for the reconstruction of liberated areas has also been increased."
He concluded that "most of the governorates allocations are for continuous projects, at a rate of 70% to complete their completion, while the remaining allocations are for new projects."
