National Security Adviser, Qasim Al-Araji, discussed, on Wednesday, with the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad, Fatih Yildiz, to strengthen relations between the two countries.
The National Security Adviser stated, in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that "the National Security Adviser, Qasim Al-Araji, received in his office today, the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad, Fatih Yildiz."
The statement added, "During the meeting, they discussed the political and security situation at the regional and international levels, in addition to discussing strengthening bilateral relations between Baghdad and Ankara."
The statement continued: "As witnessed by the meeting, the emphasis is placed on the importance of mutual respect prevailing in the relationship between Iraq and Turkey, and for constructive dialogue to be the way to solve problems, in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples and the two neighboring countries."
Al-Araji assured the Turkish ambassador, "The Iraqi government's keenness to establish the best relations with states and governments," noting that "Iraq will not abandon its solid and established relations with brotherly and friendly countries." Ended 29 / A 43
