    Independent MP Mansour Al-Baiji revealed, on Saturday, (March 27, 2021), that he is seeking to add a new paragraph in the budget, while indicating that providing support to the agricultural sector is important.
    Al-Baiji said in a statement received by  IQNEWS , "Canceling the debts owed by farmers is one of the simplest things that the government and the competent authorities must provide to support the Iraqi farmer who suffers from lack of interest and great neglect by the government, especially since the farmers have delivered their wheat crops to the state and have not yet received their dues. Amidst great meanings they have suffered for a long time.
    Al-Baiji added, "We will work to add a paragraph in the current year’s budget, which is canceling the debts owed to farmers, and we will vote on it as a service to the Iraqi farmer who suffers a lot in exchange for the government's lack of interest in the agricultural sector, and this matter is unacceptable and cannot continue in this way that targets the agricultural sector in the country."
    He stressed that "providing support to the agricultural sector is important, especially after we have achieved large production at the level of the food basket of the country and on all agricultural crops and vegetables, and we are living in the crisis of the Corona epidemic. Therefore, adequate support must be provided to the farmers and dropping the debts due to him is our demand to support this large segment."
