Sherwan Mirza said in a press statement, "The fate of the budget bill has become unknown due to the new differences that have emerged between the parliamentary blocs," indicating that "new disagreements arose between the parliamentary blocs that caused the budget vote not to take place."
He added, "Some blocs submitted new demands in addition to determining the exchange rate of the dollar and did not reach an agreement between them," noting that "the share of the Kurdistan region has nothing to do with delaying the meeting."
On setting a new date for voting on the budget, Mirza said, "There is no new date for voting on the budget, and the meetings ended yesterday without setting any date for the next session."
Yesterday, Sunday, the House of Representatives failed to hold a voting session on the draft federal budget bill for 2021 due to the continuing disagreements between the blocks.
