Today, Tuesday, the Parliamentary Integrity Committee called on the government to address the Amazon company to ban one of its products that offends Muslims and Iraq.
The head of the committee, Thabit al-Abbasi, said in a statement received by the National News Center, “We have reviewed the global marketing website (Amazon) for one of the products manufactured in the form of a floor carpet printed on it (the official Iraqi flag) that contains the name of His Majesty God is great, and why Violating Islam and Muslims and the sovereignty of great Iraq, we declare our condemnation of this disgraceful act of doing, promoting and marketing.
Al-Abbasi demanded, "The Iraqi government addresses the people in charge of this site to immediately ban the product, as it does not fit the international and protocol contexts, and represents a fundamental stab at the basic constants for which the national dignity of the Iraqis is established, not to mention the extent of the transgression of the sacred name of Majesty."
He continued: "We also ask the official authorities to track down the manufacturer, regardless of its level and authority, which carried out this heinous crime to initiate the filing of fundamentalist complaints against it."
