{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Electricity affirmed its endeavor to improve the reality of equipping all governorates during the summer season, revealing that Diwaniyah province has been supplied with 200 new generators and transformer stations and increased hours of supply with power.

Minister Majid Mahdi Hantoush stressed during his visit to Diwaniyah and his meeting with its officials, "his ministry is striving to improve the reality of supplying the stream to Baghdad and the provinces by implementing new projects and launching maintenance campaigns to reduce breakdowns and break down bottlenecks."
He pointed out that his ministry intends to equip Diwaniyah with 200 new generators and mobile switching stations, in addition to increasing the hours of supplying them with the current, pointing out that the ministry continues to implement its plan to overcome the problems that arise in the current during the summer, and increase the need of citizens to raise the processing hours.
Diwaniyah province urgently needs, just like most of the country's governorates, projects that contribute to improving the reality of electricity supply for citizens, who have become their first obsession in the summer for nearly two decades without any solutions.
In turn, the governor of Diwaniyah, Zuhair Ali Al-Shaalan, declared, "The governorate’s need for a number of electrical projects, and the need to increase processing hours, replace old transformers and repair idle ones before the temperature increases." .
As for the Director of Information of the Diwaniyah Electricity Department, Qasim Ali, he stated that "the minister, during his visit to the generation stations, stressed the need to add production units to the stations to increase the generation of electricity," revealing that "the maintenance detachments of about 180 transformers were damaged as a result of the rains of last winter."
