    "The two sides held talks on ways to improve bilateral relations between the two countries, and the importance of enhancing cooperation opportunities at various levels in a way that meets the aspirations of the two peoples," the ministry said in a statement, which Al-Furat News received.
    The minister affirmed "the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' readiness to provide all the conditions that would enable him to perform his duties to the fullest, wishing him success and success in his work, hoping to convey his greetings to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov."
    Hussein praised "the high level of coordination between the two countries in the field of combating terrorism, and the work of Russian companies to build and develop the Iraqi infrastructure in the oil and electricity sector, in addition to scientific and technical cooperation."
    For his part, the Russian ambassador conveyed "the greetings of the Russian foreign minister to the minister, stressing his country's interest in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and preparing for cooperation in all fields," indicating his country's keenness to coordinate and continuously consult with Iraq on various issues of common interest.
    He pointed out "the importance of holding meetings of the joint Iraqi-Russian committee during the coming months, to develop relations between the two countries and in various fields."
