Today, Saturday, the Independent High Electoral Commission counted the number of coalitions, parties and individuals participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Commission spokeswoman Jumana Al-Ghalay said in a statement that "the number of coalitions, parties and candidates participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections on 10/10/2021 is as follows: coalitions are 21, participating parties are 109, and parties within coalitions are 58."
Al-Ghalay added that "the number of candidates reached 3,249 and their arrangement was as follows: individual candidates 789 candidates, candidates within alliances 959 candidates, and candidates within parties 1,501 candidates."
She pointed out that "the number of women candidates reached 951 out of the total number of 3,249 candidates."
