[size=45]The Independent High Electoral Commission announced statistics on the number of parties registered in the Kurdistan Region elections.[/size]
[size=45]The spokeswoman for the commission, Jumana Al-Ghalay, said, “The commission counted the number of candidates for the Kurdistan Region elections after the process of receiving the lists of alliances, parties, and candidates was completed.”[/size]
[size=45]She added that "(2) alliances were registered and the number of parties was 13", noting that "the number of individual candidates reached 124 individuals, while 19 individual candidates were registered for the Christian component, distributed in Erbil 7, Sulaymaniyah 4, and Dohuk 8".[/size]
[size=45]She explained that “there are 20 Turkmen candidates distributed in Erbil 14, Sulaymaniyah 6, and 8 individual candidates,” noting that “the numbers of the lottery of candidates for alliances, parties and candidates will be in the first half of next August.”[/size]
