    {Economic: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Oil announced the launch of a gas investment project in the fields of Nasiriyah and Al Gharraf in Dhi Qar Governorate, with a capacity of 200 mm.
    The Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, stressed the keenness of the government and the ministry to support the gas investment project associated with oil operations in the fields of Nasiriyah and Al-Gharraf in Dhi Qar governorate in southern Iraq and to work on the transition to clean energy in cooperation with sober international companies. This came during his attendance at the launch ceremony of the associated gas investment project in Nasiriyah and Al-Gharraf fields between the South Gas Company and Baker Hughes under the patronage of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and in the presence of Lorenzo Simonelli, Chairman and CEO of Baker Hughes and a number of officials in the ministry, stakeholders and the investing company.
    He added, "The project to invest associated gas from the fields of Nasiriyah and Al-Gharraf comes within the ministry's plans to invest associated gas from all oil fields throughout Iraq, to ​​achieve our goals of investing all the quantities that are burned, to enhance the national production of gas, and to maintain a clean and safe environment, in line with Our commitment to international agreements in this regard.
    He pointed out that the government and the ministry have made important steps in this direction by concluding a number of agreements and contracts with specialized international companies to achieve plans to stop burning gas within the coming years, and work to increase production of clean energy to support the electric power generation sector, petrochemical plants and all related industries. gassed
    Meanwhile, Big Hughes CEO Lorenzo Simonelli said, "We are proud of the cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Oil and the South Gas Company in finding solutions to the problem of associated gas from important fields in Dhi Qar Governorate, and advancing the transition to clean energy forward, stressing the adoption of advanced technology by "Baker Hughes" to achieve the goal of reaching an investment of "200" square meters (one million standard cubic feet per day), and that this project represents an industrial, economic and environmental value for Iraq. 
    The Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs Karim Hattab said, “Today we celebrate the announcement of the launch of the gas investment project associated with oil operations in the fields of Nasiriyah and Al-Gharraf in Dhi Qar Governorate, this governorate that witnessed the birth of the first human civilizations, from which knowledge was transferred to various parts of the world... the land of our Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him.” . . The land of Sumer, Warka, water, reeds and marshes, adding that the few months of the life of this government and the ministry witnessed a qualitative leap in the gas and renewable energy investment sector, thanks to the government’s interest and the diligent follow-up and attention given by the Minister of Oil to this file, which resulted in the conclusion of a number of investment agreements and contracts with Specialized international companies, which are important and serious steps aimed at stopping gas flaring and converting it into clean energy, noting that Big Hughes Company has started designing, manufacturing and construction preparations for this project early this year, which includes building an integrated plant to invest a quantity of "200".
    Hattab added, "The Ministry of Oil has succeeded in achieving important steps, by promoting investment opportunities and cooperating with international companies in the oil and gas sector, despite the health challenges facing the world. The presence of these international companies in Iraq is the best message to the world that Iraq is an attractive environment for investment." And that the ministry looks forward to more cooperation, partnership and openness to the world, in order to develop the oil and energy industry, which contributes to strengthening and supporting the national economy. in completing this project.
    For his part, General Manager of South Gas, Hamza Abdel-Baqi, said that Big Hughes has begun the preparation of designs, manufacturing and construction for this project early this year, which includes building an integrated plant to invest “200” mqm of associated gas from the fields of Nasiriyah and Al-Gharraf in Dhi Qar Governorate, which Contribute to the promotion of national production with large quantities of gas, as well as the economic returns of the province, by providing job opportunities for individuals and local contracting companies.
    The celebration included an introductory presentation of the project, its most important objectives and stages of implementation, and another presentation that introduced the company and its activities in this context.
