    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Transport issued a detailed statement on the Faw port, in which it responded to news of its sale or investment.
    And the transport said in its statement that {Euphrates News} received a copy of it: “Social media circulated a news that the projects of the great port of Al-Faw have been offered for sale or investment, and we would like to show the Iraqi and international public opinion that the news that has been circulated is only news that is naked health and has no basis in reality.
    She explained, "The five infrastructure projects represented by the tunnel linking Khor Al-Zubair and the port, in addition to the road leading to it, as well as the five berths and the channel leading to the navigational channel and the mooring basin, which were signed and the amounts necessary for implementation were allocated from the 2020-2021 budget, which is a follow-up by the Ministry." Through screens for live broadcasts from the work site and located in the office of the Minister of Transport and the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and Parliament.
    And she continued, "As for the completion of the Grand Faw project, we received a letter from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers asking us to go to investment, and we did not start any procedures in this regard, especially as we are now considered a caretaker government, and work will start next year to announce the rest of the basic plans for the Great Port of Faw based on the designs."     The transport pointed out that "regarding the memoranda signed with the United Arab Emirates, they are memoranda of understanding and not agreements through which we hope to cooperate and exchange experiences between Dubai and Abu Dhabi ports and Iraqi ports in the issues of automation and management, especially as we know that the UAE has a long history in this field."
    She pointed out that she "signed maritime agreements with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after obtaining official approvals from the competent authorities. We are also in the process of signing a maritime agreement with the State of Qatar, through which trips will be conducted between the two brotherly countries and cooperation in the field of maintaining ships, as well as granting marine licenses to marine crews."
    The transfer "thanked the media, observers and those interested for their interest in the crucial issues related to the homeland and the citizen, and at the same time we wish them to take the information from its official sources and verify it before going into it, which may affect the country's reputation."

    {Local: Al Furat News} Minister of Transport Nasser Hussein Al-Shibli denied the existence of any new contract or referral of any investment projects in the great port of Faw.
    In a press statement, Al-Shibli confirmed that "the near future will witness the presentation of many projects for investment in accordance with the directives of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers," noting that "the law does not allow the caretaker government to conclude contracts at the present time."
    Al-Shibli said, "I assure everyone that the ministry has no intention so far to sign a contract or assign projects in the Faw port, after what was circulated through {Social Media} about the great port, and statements were issued regarding it from some blocs."
    And the Minister of Transport said, "There are no projects currently transferred, except for the contract signed with the Korean company Daewoo, which includes the five infrastructure projects, represented by the tunnel linking Khor Al-Zubair and the mentioned port, in addition to the road leading to it, as well as the five berths and the channel leading to the navigation channel and the mooring basin. There is no direction at the moment towards any other projects in the Faw port."
    He continued, "It is not within our power to contract on such projects at the present time, but in the near future and when the port is completed, there are other secondary plans, related to 85 berths, a tourist city, an industrial city, an airport and many other projects, and according to the directives of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, we will go to Investment If we find investment in these projects, and if the issue of investment is not successful, there are many companies that have offered the ministry joint operation, as in the port of Umm Qasr.
    Bandar added, "But for this moment, we do not have any agreements or directions with any company for that, especially since we are now as a caretaker government and the law does not allow us to do so."
    And social networking sites circulated a video clip talking about investment projects in the Great Port of Faw, worth $35 billion.
