Shafaq News/ The former Prime Minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, saw on Wednesday the first session of the Fifth Parliament, which was dominated by "a lot of disturbing scenes" and contradictory positions, while noting that democracy in Iraq has "stifling" smoke and "deafening" noise.
Abdul-Mahdi wrote in his article, "The court will consider the appeal filed, and if it responds, the same fait accompli will be imposed, and if it is accepted, and the positions do not change, the scene will be repeated in another way, and the presidency will be elected, and the names will be repeated if the alliances do not change."
He added that "the first session resulted in many things, including that it was held after legislative elections marred by many appeals. The result is to remain under the roof of Parliament, and not to go to the outside or postpone the conflict," stressing that "electing the presidency of the parliament allows the election of the rest of the presidencies, without a vacuum, as the vacuum is a great danger. Nothing more dangerous than dictatorship, occupation and fighting.”
Abdul-Mahdi continued: "(The current) has the right to rejoice, as it has achieved its goals, and (the framework) should not feel that the election of the Speaker and his two deputies is a defeat for him.
