Shafaq News/ The Iraqi National Security Ministerial Council decided, on Monday, to allocate financial rewards to citizens when reporting suspicious and suspicious persons and actions against security, while calling on security leaders to anticipate security events.
In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, the Media Office of the Prime Minister stated that the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, chaired an emergency meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security, in which the security situation in the capital, Baghdad, was discussed during the past hours.
The Ministerial Council affirmed that "the terrorist operations that the capital witnessed in the past hours are aimed at destabilizing security and community peace, and strict measures will be taken and security plans will be developed that will put an end to such sabotage acts that threaten public security in the country."
He pointed out that "the security leaders who witnessed security breaches will be reconsidered, and there will be accountability for those who prove their negligence in performing their security duties."
Al-Kazemi directed, according to the statement, all security leaders to ensure that their security plans and procedures are appropriate to the situation in the country, and that their tasks are not limited to the reaction to the event after its occurrence.
He stressed "the redistribution of work spaces for the security and intelligence services, and Mr. Al-Kazemi stressed the need to activate the intelligence effort, and that his role be essential in security confrontations, and in the pursuit of terrorist groups and crime gangs."
The Ministerial Council for National Security issued several security directives that would control security in the capital, Baghdad, and the rest of Iraq’s cities, stressing “emphasis on previous directives regarding motorcycles by preventing them from being carried by more than one person, as well as restricting their movement in the street from 6 pm until 6 am.” .
He stressed, "Restricting the movement of government cars and preventing them from leaving after official working hours except with a worksheet, and setting financial rewards for citizens to report any suspicious element, and obligating all shop owners to put surveillance cameras in their workplaces."
