[size=45]The Council stated in a statement, “The Ministerial Council for Social Services held its fifth regular session for the current year 2024, in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers building, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim.”[/size]
[size=45]He explained, “During the session, the topics on the agenda were discussed, including the management of treatment plants operating in the governorates, waste management in Iraq, and the organization of all matters related to the construction process in Iraq, in addition to discussing the transfer of ownership of a number of lands and shrines to the Office of Endowments for Christian Religions.” Yazidi and Sabian-Mandaean, and take the necessary decisions regarding them.”[/size]
[size=45]He added, “The Council voted during the session to approve the formation of a committee to prepare controls and work mechanisms for companies and machinery rental offices, and to approve the recommendations of the committee formed in accordance with the Ministerial Council for Social Services Resolution (23035 KH) regarding transferring the file of management of treatment plants operating in the governorates and the completed and under-construction stations.” Or implementation to the General Directorate of Sewage, and adherence to the Prime Minister’s directives not to include sanitation projects in Baghdad and the governorates unless they include treatment plants, in addition to approving the transfer of ownership of lands and shrines whose ownership belongs to the (defunct) Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, and my municipality (Nasiriyah, And Souq Al-Shuyoukh) in Dhi Qar Governorate and owned by the Office of Endowments for the Christian, Yazidi, and Sabian-Mandaean Religions.”[/size]
[size=45]He continued, “The Council also voted to approve the formation of the (Iraqi Construction Council), headed by the Minister of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities, and the membership of the undersecretaries of the Ministries of Planning, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Justice, and the Environment, the Undersecretary of the Municipality of Baghdad, a representative of the Council of Advisors, and the President of the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate. The Council is in charge of Several tasks, most notably: organizing all matters related to the construction process in Iraq, and it is the main gateway for setting laws and instructions in this field, including the Unified Iraqi Building Law, the Project Management Guide, the Standard Guide for Price Analysis, and the Resident Engineer’s Guide to Implementing Construction Projects.”[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out, “The Council approved the recommendation of the Supreme Committee for Waste Management in Iraq regarding the exception of plots of land owned by the Ministry of Finance and allocated to municipal institutions in the governorates for the purposes of establishing sanitary landfills or waste treatment projects to facilitate the work of municipal departments to dispose of waste.”[/size]
