    The water and agricultural expert, Tahsin al-Moussawi, said on Sunday that the Ministry of Agriculture did not implement either 20% of the 50% plan of the last season, blaming the Iraqi government for neglecting the agricultural file.
    Al-Moussawi told the "Information" agency, "The agricultural plan failed in Iraq for several reasons, the first of which is that the funds allocated for agriculture, which amount to more than 580 billion dinars since 2012 to this day, were not used properly, but were used for foreign investments, indicating that" the second reason is Grant loans that were provided to farmers without studying and which were spent outside the agricultural framework and made them owed to the Agricultural Bank, which pushed most rural areas to migrate from it.
    He added, "Iraq has lost its agricultural plan, and only 20 percent has been implemented by cultivating only two and a half million out of the 50 percent represented by planting 5 million of the wheat crop, which needs more than 4 million and a half to 5 million during one season to meet the needs of the supply card." He pointed out that "Iraq, despite the difficult conditions and the scarcity of water, was cultivating 12-15 million kilos of wheat."
    He explained, “Due to the neglect of the Iraqi government, the Iraqi Ministry of Trade purchased one million tons of wheat at a price of approximately $700 without transportation fees, stressing that” all these reasons increase the burden of the Iraqi citizen and a clear center of gravity on his daily strength.
