The Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, inaugurated today, Sunday, the Sadr Shatt Al Ibrahim pumping station in Dhi Qar to address the water scarcity in those areas.
A statement by the ministry stated that "the minister arrived in Dhi Qar governorate and met with its governor, Muhammad Hadi Al-Ghazi, and the minister, Nazim Al-Badaa and Nazim Sadr, inspected the Basra water project in the Shatrah district, and opened the Sadr Shatt Al Ibrahim pumping station in the district of Sayed Dakhil to secure an increase in the expenses entering the judiciary, which was called the Kazem Al-Ghaid station in honor of On the occasion of the martyrdom of Imam Al-Kadhim, peace be upon him, this day..
The minister stressed that "our visit to Dhi Qar governorate comes in order to open this important station that the ministry's staff completed in a record period, as well as within the periodic visits to follow up the ongoing work in the heresy regulator by the ministry's formations and to supervise the insurance and regulation of water releases from the back of the heresy regulator and towards the Islah district and Shatt Al Ibrahim in the district of Sayed Dakhil, adding that the ministry, with all its formations operating in all governorates, continues to implement a strict Marashnah system in order to ensure the delivery of shares to the governorates of Al-Dha’ib, including Dhi Qar, according to what is decided for each governorate within the water budget prepared by the ministry.
The statement continued, "In addition to the ministry's continued campaign to remove all kinds of abuses from the taboos of the main irrigation projects and rivers to ensure justice in water distributions to everyone. He also listened to a set of problems, obstacles and observations at work by the local government and the ministry's staff working in the province."
For his part, the governor praised "the staff of the ministry working in the governorate and the continuous field follow-up to the minister, which in the future leads to the completion of projects within their timing."
