    Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi opened on Sunday a PS1 pumping station of the Shatt al-Arab irrigation project in Kibitan area in Basra province.
    "The opening of this project and the irrigation station is evidence of the strength of the will of the Iraqi people, despite the attempts of terrorism to stop the wheel of life and reconstruction, which failed and the Iraqis eventually won," Abbadi said in a speech after the opening of the project. "He said.
    He added that "the government's interest in Basra and ending its suffering in the forefront of priorities and we will continue to actively dedicated to the establishment of urban projects and services, and commended the efforts of the workers to complete this project."
    "The importance of this channel is for the people of Basra, who will restore life to the agricultural and palm areas and prevent the migration of farmers and citizens to provide them with water and land reclamation," the statement quoted Minister of Water Resources Hassan al-Janabi as saying.
