Iraq regains 50% of the production capacity of the Nasiriyah oil field

Iraqi oil sources said that operations have resumed in the Nassiriya oil field in southern Iraq after a seven-day hiatus, but the West Qurna 2 field is still out of service, according to "Reuters".
And work in Nasiriyah stopped due to protests that closed roads and prevented employees from reaching work .

A senior oil official said that the field is currently operating at a capacity of 50%. The field normally produces about 80,000 barrels per day of crude oil.
The Nassiriya outage coincided with a temporary shutdown of maintenance that began last month in the West Qurna 2 field, which has a capacity of 400,000 barrels per day .
The outage in West Qurna 2 is another blow to the already tight global oil supply at a time when demand is increasing with rising prices.
Iraq pumped 4.18 million barrels per day of oil in February, 150,000 barrels per day less than the limit allowed under an agreement with so-called other OPEC+ producers, according to data from state-owned marketer SOMO.
