Today, Saturday, the head of the Al -
Fateh Alliance Hadi Al-Amiri stressed the need to pay attention to the agricultural and industrial sectors to maximize the state's financial revenues and absorb unemployment, revealing the latest developments in talks with the responsible authorities for the development of the agricultural sector.
Al-Amiri said, during the Agricultural Week conference, which was attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the agricultural sector is important, as we care about security and the disbursement of huge sums," stressing that "food security is no less important than societal security."
Al-Amiri added that "the agricultural sector secures huge revenues for the state, so there is no alternative to getting out of the crisis except by turning to the agricultural sector and taking care of it."
He pointed out, "The importance of finding job opportunities, and we have an army of graduates, and we have an opportunity to go to the agricultural and industrial sectors, to absorb the labor force, and not rely on the oil sector because economists talk about going to clean energy, and we saw the financial crisis when oil fell."
He continued, "With great regret, the economic policy encourages imports, not the local product. Therefore, the government must support the agricultural product to ensure sustainable food security."
He explained that "the production cost in Iraq is expensive because of electricity and the import of vaccines and fertilizers, and if we cannot protect the local product, we will regret it greatly."
He stressed that "opening imports is a disaster, because it will lead to massive unemployment."
He concluded, "We have no choice in overcoming the economic crisis, except by supporting the agricultural sector."
Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the launch of the activities of the thirteenth agricultural week on the grounds of the Baghdad International Fair, while confirming that the Prime Minister will consider the decisions of the emergency cell.
