Earth News/ Legal expert Alaa Al-Silawi explained, today, Tuesday, the way in which the House of Representatives can be dissolved, while noting that the calls for its dissolution are just media ado and political consumption.
Al-Tamimi told Earth News, "The legal path depends on the mechanism of drawing the political map, and the issue of imposing wills, not dialogue, and the issue now has moved away from dialogue and has become the policy of imposition is a reality," noting that the legal path regarding the future of the Iraqi parliament is decreed in the constitution. Article 64.
He added, "The House of Representatives is dissolved by a majority of its members or a request from the Prime Minister and the approval of the President of the Republic in accordance with the aforementioned article."
Silawi continued, "The political and social reality of the future of the House of Representatives and what the parties and entities that have won parliamentary seats have achieved cannot sacrifice these gains," pointing out that the calls to dissolve the House of Representatives are just media turmoil, political consumption, and an attempt to brandish a weapon that may not exist.
