Earth News/ The leader of the Sovereignty Alliance, Haider Al-Mulla, confirmed today, Thursday, that his coalition deputies will attend the Saturday session devoted to electing the President of the Republic.
Al-Mulla told Earth News, "The Sovereignty Alliance is part of a National Salvation Alliance and will attend, and all 67 coalition deputies will attend," noting that "there is a notification in the presence of   all the coalition."
He added that "the question of whether there is a meeting and a quorum, or there is no quorum, then there is a conflict of wills. Who will resolve this issue is a group of independents," noting that "the coordination framework with the National Union alone does not have the blocking third."
Al-Mulla added that "today there is also an opposition coalition, consisting of the coordination framework and the union, with up to 12 Sunnis, in addition to independent parties," stressing that "until now, the scene is not guaranteed and certain for any party."
He believed that "the majority does not have the guarantor of achieving a quorum, nor does the opposition guarantee that it owns the blocking third," noting that "we are waiting for the Saturday session to come and be revealing."
It is noteworthy that the head of the Sadrist bloc, Hassan al-Adhari, had announced, yesterday, Wednesday, the formation of the “Save the Homeland” coalition and considered it the most numerous, while confirming that the new alliance nominated Reber Ahmed for the presidency and Muhammad Jaafar al-Sadr for prime minister.
The House of Representatives is scheduled to hold its session to choose a president of the republic on Saturday, the 26th of this month, while the political forces continue their moves in order to end the file of choosing the president of the republic, start the file of the prime minister, and complete the constitutional entitlements.
