    Hakim Al-Zamili, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, discussed with the Chairman of the Investment Authority Suha Al-Najjar, on Monday, the obstacles and diagnosing the problems facing the investment process and the mechanisms for its advancement.    
    Al-Zamili said in a statement to his media office, received by Al-Iqtisad News, that "the investment sector is currently one of the best global economic sectors, and countries attach the utmost importance to advancing their economy. Investment is the key to achieving sustainable development, and here we find it necessary to make the necessary updates to the investment law." He called on the commission to start preparing a draft of the amendments and to coordinate with the competent parliamentary committees.  
    The first deputy called on the authority to prepare a clear strategy and vision for the development of this important sector in a way that contributes to facilitating the investor's entry and work inside the country, and avoiding all bureaucratic procedures and complications in the issue of granting licenses, land ownership and issuing licenses, and benefiting from the experiences of successful investment countries, stressing at the time The same on "following up on companies operating in Iraq and withdrawing the licenses of lagging projects from them."  
    For its part, Al-Najjar indicated that "the commission is in the process of completing a new investment map that includes all the governorates of Iraq, and is moving towards activating coordination with the authorities related to the investment project with the aim of speeding up approvals, granting licenses and allocating land."
