Economist Alaa Al-Fahd stressed, on Wednesday, that food prices globally and in the event of the continuation of the Russian-Ukrainian war, and that these two countries are among the largest exporters of food products, will double or double at the beginning of next year or shortly before that.
[size=45]Al-Fahd explained that "all countries, especially those that depend on imports for food goods, have started, since the outbreak of the war, to work on storing food to maintain their food security and to prepare for sharp waves of food price hikes in the event the war between Russia and Ukraine prolongs."[/size]
[size=45]Pointing out that «the Iraqi government needs to move quickly in this regard and work on storing strategic food to overcome this difficult stage when global prices rise, and in order not to leave the citizen paying the price of this upcoming crisis, and this requires support from the government and the provision of resources required to secure food security».[/size]
