The technical advisor to the outgoing Prime Minister, Haitham al-Jubouri, acknowledged Iraq's lack of food security, contrary to all government statements regarding this, stressing that the country does not have food stocks for one month.
Al-Jubouri said in an interview with Al-Iraqiya, the official channel, and it was followed by "The Information", "Iraq is without food security, and it does not have food stocks for two months or a month," stressing, "We need to import 50 percent of the wheat."
He added, "The surplus achieved from the increase in oil prices amounts to 25 trillion dinars," noting that "the Food Security Law is not a substitute for the budget."
