Expert: the government is required to provide strategic food stocks to avoid global food crisis

Baghdad (news) .. Warned an expert in agricultural affairs Majid Saleh al-Azzawi, the likelihood of a global food crisis in the coming years, and that would affect Iraq to the lack of sufficient local producer.
He said al-Azzawi (of the Agency news): The international reports indicate that the coming years there will be food crisis hit most of the countries in the world, and therefore will increase food prices in world markets.
He added: Iraq still depends on foreign import in providing food, because of the possibility of the agricultural sector to fill the local need of some basic materials for the Iraqi table.
And: that the Iraqi government and of the ministries of commerce and agriculture by providing strategic stockpiling food to meet the mandate of the global crisis, which may affect the local markets through price increases, and to provide food security for the country. / End / 8.'s. M /
