The directorate stated in a statement, “It is among its tasks in pursuing organized crime gangs that aim to damage public money and harm the national economy and chase smuggling gangs specialized in stealing oil and tampering with tanker pipelines, and in light of accurate information for military intelligence detachments in the 37th Armored Brigade of the Ninth Division, and in coordination with The division’s intelligence division and the division’s reconnaissance faction thwarted a theft of crude oil from the pipeline between the provinces of Maysan and Basra, by making a hole in the pipeline passing in the Al-Uzayr region, Maysan province, and pulling the oil into a tank prepared for this purpose, which is parked near the pipeline.
