Al-Sadr said in a tweet on Twitter, "I accepted the nomination of His Eminence Mr. Al-Sadr (his shadow) in support of his national reform project, and now is the time to apologize and withdraw."
Al-Sadr expressed his thanks to the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, and to the National Salvation Alliance, "for their confidence."
On Sunday, al-Sadr called on Sadrist deputies to submit their resignations to Parliament, and Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi approved them.
