Today, Monday, the economic expert, Nabil Al-Marsoumi, expected negative repercussions against the background of Schlumberger's decision to withdraw from the Kurdistan region.
Al-Marsoumi said in a clarification seen by Earth News: "Schlumberger International decided in a letter it sent to the Minister of Oil to abide by the decision of the Federal Court not to work in the Kurdistan region and not to submit to any tender in the oil and gas sector in Kurdistan."
He explained that "Schlumberger is the world's largest oilfield services company, employing about 100,000 people representing more than 140 nationalities working in more than 85 countries around the world, and it has four main executive offices located in: Paris, Houston, London, and The Hague." .
He added, "The company offers a package of products and services through assessment of directional and stimulation drilling formation, well drilling, software, information management and IT infrastructure services that support core industrial operations."
The economic expert pointed out that “this decision is negative on oil production in Kurdistan, especially since Schlumberger and the American energy company Halliburton (which appears to be on the way to withdraw) have work contracts in the northern oil fields, including (Taqqaq), (Tawki) and (Chamchamal). ) and (Kormore), and (Khurmalah).
And the American company Schlumberger Oil Field Services announced, earlier today, its commitment to the decisions of the Federal Court related to the oil of the Kurdistan region.
And the company confirmed, in a letter it sent to the Iraqi Oil Ministry, its commitment to Federal Court Decision No. 59, which includes not dealing with the Kurdistan region with regard to the oil file.
Earlier, the American company, Baker Hughes, the global giant in the field of oil field services, announced its commitment to the decisions of the Federal Court regarding the oil of the Kurdistan region.
