    Today, Friday, the International Labor Organization determined the rates of women’s participation in the Iraqi labor market, and while expressing its concern about an indicator it described as “dangerous,” it called for understanding the reasons for women’s reluctance to enter this market.
    The representative of the organization in Iraq, Maha Sector, said in a statement, "The most important recommendations that the organization came up with, which came based on the results of the survey of the labor market in Iraq, is to find a day for practical policies to encourage women to enter the labor market in Iraq."
    She added, "There are 13 million women of working age, of whom only one million work, and 70% of them are educated in the government sector, and the number of women working in the private sector does not exceed 300,000, which is a dangerous indicator that everyone should pay attention to and try to understand the reasons for this."     She pointed out that “as a result of difficult economic conditions, it is no longer enough for one person in the family to work, so the reasons for women’s reluctance to work must be understood, and therefore problems and challenges are solved, in addition to the unemployment of young unemployed graduates only because they are waiting to work in the government sector, so The reasons for the reluctance of young people to work in the private sector must also be known.”
