[size=45]On Wednesday, the South Korean Export-Import Bank announced that Iraq ranked third among the largest importers of South Korean weapons in five years.[/size]
[size=45]According to the South Korean Yonhap Agency, quoting the bank that issued the report "The characteristics of the arms industry and its export strategy," Korean arms exports from 2017 to 2021 increased by 176.8% compared to the previous five years.[/size]
[size=45]She added, "Korean arms exports reached a record high last year, exceeding $7 billion (about 9 trillion and 200 billion won) thanks to increased exports such as the K-9 self-propelled howitzer, frigates, and advanced training aircraft from Korea. T-50 and others.[/size]
[size=45]The agency also indicated that "the main countries to which Korea exports were Turkey (28%), Indonesia (27%), and Iraq (23%) (from 2012 to 2016), while the main countries were represented by the Philippines (16%), Indonesia (14%), and the United Kingdom (14%) respectively during the period (2017-2021).[/size]
[size=45]She explained that "military ships were one of the best-selling weapons, constituting 68% during the past five years, followed by guns with 19%, and aircraft with 12%, respectively."[/size]
