    Today, Monday, the Holy Karbala Governorate announced laying the foundation stone for the construction of 44 model schools .
    Governor Nassif Al-Khattabi told the Iraqi News Agency, "The foundation stone has been laid for the construction of 44 model schools in the province," noting that "the project is of great importance for Karbala ."
    He pointed out, "The Cabinet's interest in the educational reality in Iraq," noting that "the priority of Karbala Governorate is to pay attention to education and health, as well as the rest of the other services. "
    Al-Khattabi added, "The contract that was signed with the Chinese company (Power China) to implement it was the holy Karbala share, including 44 schools," noting that "the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers was informed that Karbala governorate needs larger numbers than this number and that the governorate is ready to provide additional sites to build other schools ."
    He continued, "It is hoped that the share of Karbala during the next stage will be more than 130 new schools," pointing out that "the education sector in Karbala governorate needs great support due to the severe shortage of schools, the lack of infrastructure, and the reluctance of some companies that I contracted with the Iraqi ministries after 2003. "
