Shafaq News/ The new Swedish ambassador to Baghdad, Jessica Svardström, affirmed on Tuesday her country's support for Iraq and work to strengthen cooperation in various fields.
And the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that Minister Fuad Hussein received today a copy of the credentials of the new Swedish ambassador to Iraq, and they discussed bilateral relations between Baghdad and Stockholm, and ways to enhance them to achieve the interests of the two friendly peoples.
The Minister wished the ambassador success in her work duties in Baghdad, expressing the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide all support for the success of the diplomatic mission’s work. He also extended Iraq’s thanks and appreciation for Sweden’s supportive stances in international forums, and for providing various aids in its war against terrorism, looking forward to increasing the volume of cooperation between the two countries.
For its part, Svardstrom stressed the depth and strength of relations between Baghdad and Stockholm, adding, "We will work on everything that would enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields."
