Saudi Arabia renews support for a stable Iraq
Shafaq News/ On Friday, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan affirmed the Kingdom's support for the unity and stability of Iraq, while noting that the tension in the region calls for more efforts, and everyone's contribution to finding peaceful solutions that restore security and stability.
This came during a meeting between Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein and his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, in the context of the work of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
According to the statement, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to advance them to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples. They also discussed Iraq's efforts to calm the situation and reduce tension between Riyadh and Tehran.
In this regard, Minister Fouad Hussein stressed that "Iraq is keen to establish the best relations with the various countries of the world, especially the Arab and neighboring countries, in order to activate common interests and confront common risks."
He pointed to the importance of "joining efforts to restore stability to the region by adopting dialogue and not interfering in the internal affairs of countries, stressing the need for security coordination to combat the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs."
