The Presidency of the Kurdistan Regional Government said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received, today, Saturday, the Chairman of the Foreign Relations, Defense and Armed Forces Committee in the French Senate (Sinat), Senator Christian Cambon, and witnessed the meeting, discussing the latest developments and developments regarding The general situation in Iraq and the region, and the two sides also discussed prospects for strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and France.
The head of the Foreign Relations, Defense and Armed Forces Committee in the French Senate expressed his "happiness to visit the Kurdistan Region again," noting that "he notes in every visit he makes to Erbil and the region a remarkable reconstruction and development."
Cambon expressed "his country's readiness to strengthen comprehensive relations with the Kurdistan Region, especially in the field of security and defense coordination. The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government also awarded the Medal of Honor from the French Senate."
For his part, the head of the regional government "thanked France, the government and people, for the support it provided to the people of Kurdistan in the difficult days," reiterating the Kurdistan Region's desire to "upgrade relations with France."
